UPDATE: With the completion of the project to integrate the VTTA website with the new CTT website, the Season Long Competitions are now showing the current standings for 2025 using the results entrants have achieved this season.
Riders are ranked on age adjusted average speed over the required qualifying events, which two 10’s and two 25’s for the Short Distance Competition, 25, 50 and 100 miles for the Three Distance Competition, and 25, 50, 100 miles and 12 hours for the Best All Rounder Competition.
If a rider has completed less than the required number of qualifying events, the average speed is proportionately less. For example if you have ridden two 10’s at an age adjusted average speed 30 mph, but no 25’s your age adjusted average speed for the short distance competition is (30+30+0+0)/4 = 15 mph. This ensures that during the season the riders who have done more events are pushed to the top.
In the Open Short Distance Competition, the top three riders are Peter Greenwood (32.348 mph), Richard Gifford (32.146 mph) and Chris Lord (32 mph). Last season the winning age adjusted average speed was 32.024 mph, so Peter and Richard are looking good for the podium at the end of the season.
In the Open Three Distance Competition, the top three riders are Karl Norris (31.044 mph),  Anthony Jones (30.364 mph), Darren J Bennett (29.824 mph). Last season the winning age adjusted average speed was 31.731 mph, so it may be someone is out there waiting to do a 25, 50 or a 100.
In the Open BAR Competition, the top three riders are Michael Stevens (28.749 mph), Peter Tomlin (27.089 mph) and Lee Williams (26.791mph). Last season the winning age adjusted average speed was 28.668 mph, so Michael is looking good for the podium at the end of the season. He set a National Record for 75 year old of  238.47 miles in the 12 hour.
In the Female Short Distance Competition, the top three riders are Jen Clegg (32.309 mph), Louise Robinson (31.59 mph) and Deborah Hutson-Lumb (30.883 mph). Last season the winning age adjusted average speed was 34.5 mph by Linda Dewhurst, who still has a 25 to complete. Her average age adjusted speed on 3 events this year is 33.94 mph, so she looks the favourite to win again.
In the Female Three Distance Competition, the top three riders are Sarah Matthews (29.712 mph), Christina Murray (28.376 mph) and Kathryn Smith (27.472 mph). Last season the winning age adjusted average speed was 29.709 mph by Christina Murray, so Sarah looks favourite to win this year.
In the Female BAR Competition, the top two riders are Christina Murray (27.460 mph) and Kathryn Smith (26.676 mph). No other rider has completed all the qualifying events.  Last season the winning age adjusted average speed was 28.632 mph by Christina, so she is looking good to top the podium again at the end of the season, but there are several strong female riders who are waiting to do a 12 hour. They can use the data in the table to work out what they to ride to win the BAR. For example, I calculate Sarah Matthews would need to ride 188 miles in a 12 hour to beat Christina.
In the Club Competitions, Team Bottrill are leading in all three: Short distance, Three distance and BAR.
In the Group Competition, East Midlands lead in the Short Distance but Wessex top the table in the Three Distance and BAR.
Good luck to all riders for the rest of the season.
