The deadline to enter the final VTTA Championship of 2026 is fast approaching. The event is the 15 mile, organised by VTTA (Yorkshire) on the famed Red Wall course. It’s on Sunday 6th September with a very civilised 11am start, perfect for those with a long journey.

The V226 version of the Red Wall uses the A168, alongside the A1M, traversing a 15 mile loop between roundabouts at Boroughbridge South and Walshford; the headquarters are in Arkendale, near to the start. In times gone by this road was the southbound carriageway of the A1 and the Boroughbridge TT courses, so has seen plenty of competition records. In much earlier times it was known simply as the Great North Road and was a hunting ground for Dick Turpin and other highwaymen, but now you can be sure of a friendly welcome from VTTA (Yorkshire)

Entries are now flowing in and preference is given to VTTA members, although any age can enter. Last year the championship was in Cheshire, where East Midlands rider Jen Clegg was the female and overall winner and Mike Twelves the open winner; sadly neither are able to defend their titles this year so the champion’s jerseys and medals will be going to new homes.

Entries close on Tuesday 25th August. Don’t delay.
