NEWS: European Time Trial Championship medals for VTTA members

Three VTTA members produced medal-winning performances at the European Time Trial Championships in Italy recently, which also acted as a qualifier for the 2027 Gran Fondo Championships.
The older women were the first to tackle the challenging 22-kilometre course and enjoyed immediate success when Margaret Docking (Ruthin CC) won the 75-79 age group.
This was followed by Deb Sheridan (...a3crg) winning 70-74, and then Linda Dewhurst (Cheltenham and County CC) was involved in a fight with ex pro world champion Jeanne Longo.
On this occasion the hilly course played in the French woman's favour, but Linda finished with a battling silver medal.
In other categories there were excellent performances from Neil Mackley, Pippa O'Brien, Alexa Forbes, Harriet Orridge and Paul Pardoe all of whom will wait to see if they have qualified for the 2027 Gran Fondo Championships in France.
