Anfield BC are hosting their annual 100-mile epic ride this Bank Holiday Monday, and along with it the VTTA National 100-Mile crowns will also be decided.
Five of the six riders who made it onto the open and female podiums in 2024 are returning to go for glory once again in the VTTA age-adjusted time (AAT) categories.
Female champion 46-year-old Joanna Cebrat (360cycling) faces competition once again from the evergreen Kathryn Smith (71, Sleaford Wheelers) as well as 2024 bronze medallist Angela Hannon-Flaherty (56, Seacroft Wheelers).
And in the men’s category on age-adjusted times, last year’s runner-up and third placed riders David Nichol (73, Ferryhill Wheelers) and Philip Kennell (58, Zurbaran Racing) will be aiming to take victory.
Kennell’s team-mate at Zurbaran Racing, Marcel Schubert is a strong rider and could be one to watch too, as well as Naomi de Pennington (Drag2zero) who has also been in good form recently.
The event uses roads between Telford and Market Drayton in Shropshire, traversing between High Ercall, Shawbirch, Waters Upton, Hodnet and Shawbury.
