Some of the fastest riders from across the country are heading to Buckinghamshire on Sunday, as VTTA London and Home Counties stage the VTTA National 10-Mile Championships.
Quick times are expected across the categories, with older riders making the majority of the line-up and looking to claim national titles.
Twickenham CC’s Liam Maybank and fellow veteran Richard Oakes (Team Ohten) are expected to be among the quickest on actual time, but on age-adjusted times there are many riders in the field across the ages that could challenge them.
Fresh from setting a new age record last weekend, Jen Clegg (Team Bottrill Nopinz) lines up in this event using the F11/10 course near Aston Clinton, while World champion Linda Dewhurst (Cheltenham and County CC) is also down to ride alongside Springfield RT’s Debbie Moss and Deb Hutson-Lumb (Legato RT).
Mick Stevens (Melton Olympic CC) riders in the 75-79 age group, while Mike Twelves is looking to be part of a successful Team Ohten line-up which includes Joel Stewart and Jayne Paine on her road bike.
The event uses the A41 to the east of Aylesbury, turning at Tring. When conditions are right it can be one of the fastest courses in the country, with several 17-minute times having been set.
