World champions and national title holders are heading to Wiltshire on Sunday for the inaugural VTTA National Road Bike Championships being staged by Swindon Wheelers.
The 30-mile event takes place on the U871 course near Malmesbury, and among the entries are UCI World Time Trial Championship winner Linda Dewhurst as well as 2025 VTTA Best All-Rounder and VTTA National 100-Mile title holder Mick Stevens.
The course is deliberately sporting in nature to best align to the relative strength of road bikes, a popular feature which looks set to be repeated in future editions of the road bike national title.
While a small number of late entries may be made available there are currently 53 road bikes down to ride out of 72 total entries, 49 of which are veterans, and with entries coming from as far away as Scotland.
Eleven teams are demonstrating strength in numbers, with Legato Racing Team no doubt aiming to back up their clean sweep of team awards in 2025. However, there are plenty of other big hitters in there to give them a run for their money.
