We have seen a good start to the season in the Mildands with 22 members taking part in at least one open event in our region, despite the cancelaton of our biggest event (Welland Trophy) which had 24 Mildands VTTA members on the start sheet.
The table below shows the current standing in the Midlands Points Series as of the 10 May 2024. There are still 12 more counting events in the Midlands this year so plenty of opportunities for you to race and be part of the Mildands VTTA Points Series - Best of Luck !
Thanks to Tim Wood (Echelon Cycles) continued generosity, and to the Midlands VTTA Committee for matching the sponsorship, for the Points Series which has £500 worth of prizes. Prizes will be awarded to the top ten best placed riders on K Course events this year.
Competition Rules
- All Midlands ‘K’ Open events (except hill climbs) are counting events.
- Open to all active / paid up Midlands VTTA members.
- Solo bikes and trikes only (no TTT’s or tandem rides}
- Best six rides score – but only four rides needed to qualify for awards.
- Age Adjusted Times / Standards used to decide the position of the field. Only Midlands VTTA members included when deciding the finishing positions.
- Points allocated as follows: 100 to the last placed rider, 105 to the second-last, and so on up to the first placed Midlands VTTA rider.
- To minimise the risk of a tie in the final table each rider will receive one additional point for every K course event ridden. This is not limited to the 6 counting events.
- Any remaining ties will be resolved by the rider with the highest average placing across his/her highest scoring six events taking the higher place in the final table. If there is still a tie this principle will be extended to seventh event, and so on.
