VTTA Yorkshire age records have been 70 years in the making but the full lists are now published on the national website, our oldest still current record dating from 1953 when Tom Henderson did 4:59:51 for 100 trike borne miles. Our oldest solo record holders are Mike Riches and Brian Ward at 84, but these were exceeded by Barbara Penrice who raced on the tandem at 86. We now have 259 road records and 26 track records across most gender and machine categories and at most distances.

You can find our records by going to the VTTA national website then following "> Groups > Yorkshire > Group records" and then using the filter table. Alternatively this hyperlink should get you there.

Our record lists include current and former national records and a large number of fast rides by our members which we have been able to identify from CTT results, printed result sheets and VTTA publications.

IF YOU THINK WE HAVE MISSED ANY POTENTIAL RECORDS PLEASE CONTACT GREYSTONE SMALL WITH THE DETAILS.

To qualify as a group record:

  • The rider must be a VTTA Yorkshire member at the time of the ride.
  • The ride must be faster than any by a rider of the same age or older.
  • Rides can be on any course in the country but must be in a CTT type A event.
  • Other conditions are generally the same as for national records, see regulations 3.3 in the VTTA handbook.

From 2023 all potential records on solo bikes and trikes should be identified automatically by the website and you will receive an email notification, but tandem and track records must still be claimed.

Many of these records are beatable and there are gaps in the lists, so get those entries in and let's see how many new records can be set in 2024.
