Midlands VTTA for retaining the Welland Trophy 2026

Congratulations to the Midlands VTTA for retaining the Welland Trophy, after taking on the might of the BMRC riders. Our fastest two TT and two RB riders on AAT combined times decided the overall competition.

Congratulations to Peter Mulligan (Droitwich Cycling Club) and Mike Lythgo (Legato RT) on TT bikes, and to Victoria Webb (Born to Bike – Bridgtown Cycles) and Mark Hamer (Legato RT) on road bikes, who were the fastest riders on the day and this year’s trophy winners.

I have to say, this was the toughest event I have ever ridden. Strong winds, savage gusts ahead of the incoming storm, and bursts of hail and rain hit the course just as the last few riders were about to start. Given the wind, the cold, and how soaked riders became, it was an amazing achievement by all our winners this year.
