The VTTA in partnership with Cleveland Coureurs is promoting its first closed circuit time trial championship, open to all veteran age riders on the Croft Motor Racing Circuit near Darlington. The date is Sunday 24th October, starting at 1pm. Riders will be set off at 30 second intervals for five laps of the two mile circuit. There will be separate categories for men and women and for solo TT/triathlon bikes and for standard road bikes, with the VTTA providing medals for those who get on the podium. Entries will be available via the CTT website.

This is a pilot event for 2021 that will be inclusive of all veterans (aged over 40) whether VTTA members or not. The results will be calculated using the VTTA’s new age adjusted vets’ handicap system to give a level playing field for all riders. The VTTA hopes in 2022 to run both a ‘Northern’ and a ‘Southern’ closed circuit vets’ championship that together will provide a fresh sporting challenge accessible to veteran riders from all over the country.

The VTTA is grateful to Gavin Russell and his team, who have several seasons’ experience of running events on the Croft circuit, for running this exciting new event. Riders are invited to put the date in the calendar !
