Change of Course for 3rd August.

The Organiser of the event planned for the K16 on 3rd August (see CTT Handbook page 260) has learned that there will be road works on and around the course for several weeks and that these works require the event to be either cancelled or moved to a different course. I am pleased to tell you that the Echelon-cycles.co.uk/VTTA Midlands 25 mile race originally planned for that date will now be held on the K33 Alcester to Evesham roads and that the start time will be later than advertised in order to allow some riders extra time to make the journey. Many thanks to Organiser Jeff Matthews and his helpers for taking on all the additional work involved in moving the event to an equally fast course; we hope that their efforts will be rewarded by a large field.

Echelon-cycles.co.uk/VTTA Midlands £1,000 Points Series July and August

The Series is heading for a critical couple of weekends with three events which could go a long way to determining the final outcome of the Age Group competitions. On the 26th and 27th July there is a ten mile race on the Alcester – Evesham K33 course followed next day by a 25 mile event on the same roads. All details are in the CTT handbook pages 256 – 257.

On the following Sunday 3rd August there is a 25 mile test on the rapid K16 around Burton, details page 260 of the handbook.

But in addition to there being important points to be won by riders who have already registered performances in the series, it is still not too late for members who have not yet competed in the counting events to score points and feature in the overall end-of-season results. It is only necessary to complete 4 events to qualify and so, with the three events shown above and the 10 mile test on 13th September, a late starter can still qualify. All the remaining events are on relatively flat, easy courses so no-one need be concerned about the severity of the challenge. Have a go! You know you will enjoy it. And you might win a prize!
